Frequently Asked Questions 

  • Session Availability:
    The therapists at Mealer Family Therapy maintain their own schedules. Weekend and evening appointments are available depending on the therapist. Please inquire about availability with each therapist you are interested in working with.
  • Session Length and Frequency:
    All sessions are 45 minutes in length and are weekly.
  • Telehealth:
    Due to the COVID-19, Mealer Family Therapy converted to an online therapy group using a HIPAA compliant platform that can be accessed by any phone, tablet, computer. It has provided the greatest assurance that psychotherapy can continue in the safest manner possible to all involved. It has been a great shift overall and the connection between you and your therapist is personal, confidential, and safe.
  • Insurance Coverage:
    Mealer Family Therapy is an out-of-network provider for PPO Insurance plans. Payment for the session is charged that week to a credit card kept securely on your file. At the end of the calendar month, Mealer Family Therapy will electronically submit that month’s sessions directly to your insurance company. Your insurance company may reimburse you according to the plan for services rendered. If you have specific questions about your insurance coverage, please contact your insurance company directly for your plan’s out-of-network benefits. The procedure code for services is 90834 (Psychotherapy, 45 minutes).
  • Payment:
    The following forms of payment are accepted: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). This payment is stored securely in your electronic health records. Your credit card will be charged within the calendar week of each session.
  • Cancelation Policy:
    Clients may cancel their appointment up to 24 hours prior to the start of their appointment at no charge. If the notice to cancel the appointment is received within the 24 hour window prior to the appointment, the session fee will be charged to the credit card on file. Unfortunately, insurance plans will not reimburse canceled sessions as services were not rendered.
